Useful Info & FAQs

These are some common questions we get:

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel the tour for any reason then you will receive a full refund for any deposit or payment made if you give us at least 48 hours notice. Admission tickets to venues are non-refundable.  There is a full refund in circumstances of international transportation cancellations (such as cancelled flights or trains) or in case your cruise ship is unable to dock in port for circumstances beyond your control. We aim to offer the best customer service in Europe and we are pleased to offer such a flexible and accommodating cancellation policy.

Do your drivers and guides speak good English?

Barcelona guideExpect to hear a lot of people say ‘sorry no English’ when you visit Spain… even in busy touristy places – but not on our tours. We speak clear and easy to understand English!

If you are booking a transfer service only (not a tour!) then you may be chauffeured with one of our very pleasant and courteous Spanish speaking drivers who speak basic English only. However, on ALL our tours you will not have to concentrate very hard to understand what is being said. Our guides and driver-guides speak English well (as everyone tells us) and of course we can also provide tours in other languages if needed – please contact us for more details.

Do I have to pay in advance?

No. We are very flexible when it comes to payments. If you prefer to pay a deposit only and the balance at the end of the tour – this is possible. If you prefer to secure the tour only and pay it all at the end of the tour – this is also possible. If you wish to pay everything in advance – this again is OK. Whichever way you prefer to arrange payment is fine.  We normally ask for full payments in advance for transfers only. If you want us to purchase skip-the-line tickets for you (or any type of admission tickets) then these are of course due in full in advance as we purchase them directly for you.

Are you a legal company in Spain?

Licensed and bondedYes we are!

We are the original Barcelona Day Tours and part of the Top Day Tours Group, a registered tour operator in Spain, which is a member of ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) and Cruise Line International Association (CLIA). We operate tours for some of the largest Travel Agents and online portals in the world, which of course only work with the very best local companies.  Please ensure you only book your services with a legal tour company by checking with ASTA, which is the regulatory body for the travel industry worldwide.

Can you pick me up at the hotel and drop me off at the cruise pier?

Yes of course! This is exactly what we are all about. We will pick you up anywhere in Barcelona and take you to wherever you wish to go at the end of the tour. This way you don’t have to spend any time looking for a meeting point and taking public transportation back to your hotel, cruise port, etc. We are here to make your holiday easy and enjoyable with a personal touch!

On your small-group excursions you are recommending to visit the Sagrada Familia at the end of the tour – why is that?

There is a lot to see on our small-group tours.  The visit inside the Sagrada Familia takes about 90 minutes.  For those that want to go inside the church, we will purchase skip-the-line tickets and lead you to the entrance at the end of our tour.  Take as much time as you need inside and enjoy an audio-guided tour.  At the end of your visit, grab a taxi (very easy to do and very safe!) and if you keep the receipt we will also reimburse you for that (up to 15 Euros)!  The Sagrada Familia will not allow outside guides to enter with their guests during daytime and so it makes the most sense to give our guests to option to go inside La Sagrada Familia if they want to do this at the end of our tours.  They get to see as much as possible on our tour and spend as much time as needed inside the church.

I only have one day in Barcelona – what should I do?

Montserrat Monastery from aboveWe recommend two options depending on the amount of time you have and how much you wish to see in this time. Definitely do the Barcelona City Tour if this is your first visit. In 4 hours you will visit all the main highlights of Barcelona including Gaudi’s famous buildings, Park Guell, La Sagrada Familia, and more. If you have a full day and you are happy to see as much as possible, do the Barcelona and Montserrat Combination Tour. In one full day of travel (8 hours) you will see everything Barcelona has to offer as well as the most famous site outside the city – Montserrat. We strongly recommend the full day tour if you have the time for it.  If you have already been to Barcelona before, then you should consider the Montserrat or Montserrat and Wine-Country tour as your best option for the day, and of course if you have the time then visit Girona and the Costa Brava too!

We are a large group of colleagues visiting Barcelona – can we tour together?

Yes you can. We can accommodate any size group. We have been operating tours for many well known Universities, Colleges, and large businesses, and have many references to share. Any group size is welcome – you will not be disappointed!

I see you are recommending a flamenco show and dinner – why is that?

Flamenco dancersMany of our guests stay in Barcelona at least one night and wish to experience something authentically Spanish. The flamenco show and dinner we recommend is the best in Barcelona and rated within the top 3 venues in Spain.

We are happy to recommend them since our guests repeatedly tell us that they enjoy very much this nightly entertainment and it makes their holiday more memorable. We offer our guests prices which are discounted and are below the official price (lowest price available anywhere) as an extra benefit.

Does the Flamenco cost include transportation?

No it does not. If you wish we can arrange transportation for you separately or you can take a taxi or walk if your hotel is in the city center.

We are definitely coming to Barcelona – any last suggestion?

Yes – come in good spirit! You are on holiday and if you need any assistance at all we are always here to help so feel free to contact us. Take lots of pictures, smile smile smile – you are coming to one of the most beautiful places in Europe (we think so) and with a little planning we will arrange a smooth and wonderful holiday for you. Relax and enjoy!

We hope to welcome you in Barcelona soon!
